Music keeps our brains sharp and spirits youthful. There's a good deal of consensus about this, and in recent decades, research into the positive effects of musical training has gained momentum. Indeed, most scientists are not studying whether musicians benefit from their craft, but how and why.
Scientific studies and statistics may appear in future posts, but for today, let's not get wrapped up in those.
Today, let's just be swept away by the simple joy exhibited by Marlow and Francis when they gave a rousing impromptu performance in the Atrium of the Mayo Clinic.
Now, that is a pretty good reason to stay with the piano.
